Kirtling and Upend, historic Cambridgeshire villages
Doug's story: A Country Life
Doug Everitt, Kirtling villager for 50 years

Doug Everitt has lived for 50 years in Kirtling with his wife Jean. Over his lifetime he has experienced many changes in village life, and he has kindly agreed to share his recollections with us.

Over the coming weeks, we will be putting down on paper his personal account of aspects of life in this country village as it moved from post war rationing through to the present day.

We hope you enjoy looking back with us at a time in which the men worked together on the land and everyone would stop to pass the time of day with his neighbour.

This promises to be compulsive reading. From what I’ve heard, Doug has quite a story to tell..
