Welcome to our village

 

Kirtling and Upend is a historic parish in East Cambridgeshire. Located about five miles south of Newmarket, the parish comprises the attractive and historic villages of Kirtling and Upend.

 

Ash tree cottage UpendThis website has been put together on a voluntary basis with contributions from members of the parish community including Doug Everitt, Penny Close, Tricia Lewis, and Dick Rickords.

 

In particular, we would like to acknowledge the valuable contribution of Doug Everitt to the development of this site. Doug has provided fascinating first hand knowledge about the changing pattern of rural life in the area since the Second World War. We have regular feedback from people not only in the UK but around the world who have enjoyed his account of A Country life.
